18th March 2015 is a milestone of the history of yacht repairing in china. VTY successfully finished changing the engine of MCY 76. The project is quite challenging.
MCY 76 in VTY
The MCY 76 was purchased in 2011 and has two 1200HP Man V8 engines, but one of them stopped working properly about a year ago. At that time there were no yacht repairing places that could fix the problem in China, so the problem has been remain unsolved. The owner is really frustrated.
The yacht owner left the yacht with VTY before spring festival of 2015 to get ready for the big operation. VTY had talked a lot with MCY manufacture to figure out the best solution before VTY started doingpreparation for this project.
The engine of MCY 76 weighs about 1875 Kg. Lots of equipment had to be removed from the yacht in order for the engine to fit in. Many Chinese owners like fly-bridges, but fly-bridges did make the whole project more difficult. Because there is just enough room for the engine to go in.
Let’s take a look at the following pictures to know more about the whole process of the project!
